By the age of 15 as he was pursuing his own boxing career. An undefeated Cruiserweight with 9 fights and 6 by Knockout, he is currently ranked #5 in the USA and targeting a title shot soon. With a victory on February 26 in Philadelphia, he moves one step closer to his dream of becoming a champion…

In His Own Words

You are known as the "Muslim Boxer." As an ambassador for Islam how would you describe how your faith intersects with boxing career?

I try to stay true to who I am. I am a Muslim first, InshaAllah! My faith wholly inspires and motivates my life. My focus right now is to move up in the ranks of boxing and I have my eyes set on a world championship next year. I’m going to continue to build my presence as a Muslim in the sport of boxing and really represent for my community.

What advice do you have for young athletes?
Stay true to who you are, don’t let the influence of fans and fame and social media pressure you into changing the foundation of who you are. Learn the fundamentals and science of any sport you pursue, trust your coach, and trust your closest advisors. Believe that your village has your best interest in mind. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and admit that you don’t know something. Consistency and discipline are key!
Who do you most admire?
I admire most Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). My role models are Badou Jack, Mufti Menk, Suhaib Webb, Amer Abdallah, Omar Suleiman, Muhammad Ali
